This band rules! DEATH BY STEREO on interview for Hearingthevoice.com

This interview is a DEATH BY STEREO interview. Do I need to say more?? Well yeah I will say something more; But briefly. DBS just signed to VIKING FUNERAL RECORDS and maybe the name is not known for you yet BUT this record label is the record label created by Fletcher(Pennywise) and Ken Seaton. they just signed DBS and Zero Authority till now, but they promise a lot in the future and due to the experience of those 2 guys I´m sure something really good will come out of it. So ladies and gentlemen here we go DEATH BY STEREO!!

How’s been the tour with Agnostic Front so far?
DBS: It has been really good, we already played a lot of shows, fun times and meeting new people but it has been cold and snowy also. We missed already a show because of the snow and well we don´t really appreciate this “nice” weather, I just like to see the dark side of things.

How many headaches Efrem suffers constantly because of all the Line-up changes you have had?
DBS: Hahaha He is the one who causes all the headaches in the band; he is the one who causes all of the line-up changes yeah!! I think I will quit after this show tonight hahaha, He is ok and sleepy right now, but he is fine, he is on the middle of a good sleep.

You’ve been recently signed to Fletcher’s new record label called “Viking Funeral Records” what makes this label different to the labels you’ve been before?
DBS: Well they just signed us right now so I think they are awesome and they are the best right now! Hahaha. But well now seriously, The CD hasn’t been released yet, so we still don’t know if they will be amazing or terrible but, you know? You have to look at it really positive and we hope it turns to be the best.

And what are you expecting from them?
DBS: We are expecting the world; we want to go double platinum by May, let’s see if that happens hahaha. Here in Europe we are signed to Concrete Jungle records.

Are you the only band on the label?
DBS: Authority Zero is on Viking Funeral Records too.

Did you miss Dan (Guitar) during his tour with Zebrahead?
DBS: mmmmhhh well no, really we didn’t, we expected him to stay there longer hahaha, but you know? We can’t really function with out him, so yeah we missed him.

Do you already have a release date for “Black sheep of the American dream” and why that name for the CD?
DBS: The release date is April 20th here in Europe and April 24th everywhere else and about the title I don’t know Efrem knows why. (Efrem:) I think that people like us and how our country works is sort of a class system and no matter what we do, who we become, if I can get really rich tomorrow, I will still be Efrem and I will never become part of their system, part of their world, because I will be excluded no matter what I become or what I think I am, because I will always be who they perceive me as, and well not wanting to be one of them, I think by choice and well I think all this American dream is completely false, it is unreal. It is something that just a small handful of people who can experience that. And you know I will always be the “Black sheep of the American dream”

Why do you think that the porn business is still making millions when all its contents are shared for free, and music business doesn’t make any money when is freely shared?
DBS: I think people will always pay for sex and they won´t pay for music, you know? You can always download a song but you can´t download a fuck, but well the porn business is not doing pretty well, we have a couple of friends in the industry and they are starting to do a lot less money as musicians do, because of the illegal downloads. For a cum shot in the face they used to get $500, $600 now they just get $150. If the porn business goes down you know that the world is going down too hahaha I don’t know anybody who pays for porn, there is so much free stuff, is kinda like music, who pays for that either?

How were your experiences in Latin America?
DBS: We love to play there, we party long, we played good shows, so we can hardly wait to go back to Latin America.
