By: Miguel Guinness.

First of all, Why The Forum Walters?

Well, that’s a question we’ve been asked a lot, haha. Forum is the latin word for community and it has always been our goal to push and support the punkrock community. Walters is an abbrevation for Wild And Loud TERror sounds. Oh, and if you ask me again next week, I may give you another answer.

What do you think about the Austrian punk rock scene?

The scene used to be a place for the outlaws, for the left-out and for those who couldn’t fit in. Nowadays, it’s not about the music and the movement anymore, it’s about how you dress and honestly, what the fuck do I care what brand of jeans the kids are wearing? I don’t want to sound pessimistic, there are still a lot of people who are into Punkrock because of the music, not because it’s a fashion phenomenon and because a studded belt looks good to your freshly dyed, spiky hair.

How would you like to change it(Austrian scene)?

As already mentioned, people shouldn’t forget what Punkrock is all about. It is music from and for the heart. I think no one should judge about people because what they wear but because of their actions. The scene was always open for everyone, so let’s forget style and welcome those who want to join!

Talking about the band, where are you from and who are the members?

We are originally from Vöcklabruck, Upper Austria but three quarters of the band live in Vienna right now. Jakob is our man on drums, Matla plays lead guitar, Hannah plays bass and I sing and play rythm guitar.

How was your U.S.A. tour?

One of the craziest and coolest experiences we ever had. I don’t want to go into detail but we went through a lot of weird shit, such as sleeping in SadoMaso-cellars, and so on.

Do you already have some plans to go back?

We toured through the States in 2009 and 2010, so I guess we are going to leave out 2011, save our money and fly over again as soon as possible.

You will play the “Punk is not dead” in Austria, Which bands and which
cities will you play?

We play with our friends Tommy Gun from Amstetten, and with awesome other bands such as Wham Bam Bodyslam, Cashless, Evil Mopped and so on. The tour will lead us through Lower Austria, Vienna, Burgenland, Styria, Kärnten and Upper Austria.

Any other big plans for the 2011?

As far as for now working on new material and doing a Eastern Europe tour in May. We also hope to play some rad festivals in the summer.

Anything that you would like to add?

To all you people out there: Keep supporting the Austrian music scene, you don’t have to go abroad to discover great music. Bands like Wham Bam Bodyslam, Ramazuri, Iriepathie, Tommy Gun, 21 Stories and so on deserve to be heard, so go to their shows, buy their merchandise and keep them going. That’s it. Thanks for the interview.
