It was really interesting to watch Showyourteeth musically evolve, but any comparison between the first demo-song on MySpace and the first longplayer would be absolutely useless since the progress they made from the first song to the debut-album is huge. The band improved their skills regarding songwriting, arrangements and especially the singers voice got better. With a sound they brought to perfection on their first album "Forecast", Showyourteeth stands out of typical "Metalcore".

The first song "March 3rd" is a worthy opener for the LP. After just 5 seconds the singers voice varies in such an extreme way and offers therefore already the first surprise effect, one of a couple on the record. Another example of such an effect is track 3 "Surrounded By Heaven And Sea": After a short melodic guitar riff a sudden break drops in. This shows Showyourteeths very well-thought-out songwriting. An Interlude divides the album midway which fits well and is musically perfectly arranged. The quality of the second half of the songs does not decrease at all, especially the follow-up song after the Interlude "Anchor" which surprises with clean vocals. For the final song "Bruises Like Medals" the singer of From Dawn To Fall provided backup vocals which brings alternation into the song and additionally his voice is excellent.

Alltogether the album stands out due to songwriting, well-thought-out arrangements, honest lyrics, a voice which varies and an extremely well production.

Showyourteeth release a debut-album, musically somewhere settled between Evergreen Terrace, A Day To Remember and Emmure, at a very high level - a level that some bands don't even reach with their 3rd or 4th realease. It's obvious that this band is not willing to settle for mediocrity.
